Our Story

Past

Silivero is a family-owned company with a history that dates back to the end of 1922. It was founded by our great-grandfather, Wincenty Siedmiogrodzki, who emigrated to Africa and fought alongside Witold Ścibor-Rylski in the Second Boer War. After the war, he chose to remain in Africa, where he became involved in the silver industry. Silivero began its operations in August 1922 in the Union of South Africa (modern-day South Africa). Initially, the company focused on silver mining in the region, laying the foundation for its future in silver craftsmanship. Soon, Silivero expanded to specialize in creating artistic silver jewelry, which attracted jewelry enthusiasts from across the country.

In the 1930s, the first Silivero store opened on Harrison Street in Johannesburg, where local customers could purchase unique pieces. The store quickly gained popularity among those seeking jewelry with distinctive, artistic designs.

Present

In 1988, the company relocated to Poland, establishing its new base in Krakow, where it expanded its production and sales of silver jewelry. In Krakow, Silivero has built a recognizable brand, offering a wide range of original designs characterized by unique style and quality craftsmanship. With its own foundry and team of designers, Silivero can fulfill custom, artistic orders, creating jewelry that transcends conventional patterns and embodies a creative approach to jewelry making.

Future

In the future, Silivero plans to further develop its artistic pursuits by integrating new technologies and trends with traditional jewelry craftsmanship. The company is introducing elements into production that utilize 3D printing and scanning technology to precisely capture natural forms and patterns. This will enable the creation of jewelry in unprecedented shapes, inspired by both African roots and contemporary minimalism. Silivero also aims to expand its collections with sustainably crafted jewelry, using materials sourced from certified, eco-friendly suppliers. By continuing its tradition, the company hopes to attract jewelry enthusiasts through a blend of history, modern eco-conscious production, and refined design.

The Brand

The name Silivero means "silver" in Southern Sotho, one of the languages spoken in South Africa. It was chosen as a tribute to the African heritage of the company and the region where it originated, as well as to symbolize the connection with its primary resource—silver. Silivero is a blend of traditional craftsmanship and advanced technology. Born in Africa. Designed in Poland. Made in Europe.
